FEBRUARY CARD MAP CHALLENGE:

I have a box of embellishments to give away to the recipient of the most "likes" for their card using the following map:

Card Map by Becky Fleck

Cards have to be on the Challenge board by the end of the month. Everyone gets to "like" whatever cards they admire.
Samples are on the board at the Arts & Crafts centre.

This is a sample of the type of "map" you will find when you visit page/maps by Becky Fleck blog.
I can assure you that you will be INSPIRED to make a card that is special!
Have fun!

March Inspiration 2012
BIG SHOT BUSY

A couple of weeks ago, I spent some quality time with my Big Shot.
I updated my Journal for easy reference when I or my friends & customers use the Big Shot. Here are some pics:

My Big Shot Journal is filling up!
Dies Featured here are from "Spellbinders" and "Tim Holtz".

The majority or my Dies come from Stampin'Up!
Waiting on new ones arriving this week!
(Framelits and Edglits)
I am adding Sandwich Recipes for a quick reference when I want to use the dies I am slowly collecting.

A "sandwich" is the layers you need to use to produce the particular shape or effect you are running through the Big Shot.

It is fast becoming an essential tool in the craft rooms across the world!

The BIG SHOT  is my most favourite tool. It makes it very simple to add texture with embossing folders or 3D images to add to my scrap pages and cards.
The Anniversary card below uses the "Tulips" frame embossing folder. Simple but effective. The Male Birthday card uses the "Lattice" embossing folder.

Male Birthday Card:

This card is suitable for the males in your family!
I used the stamp set "Nautical Expedition" from the Summer Mini catalogue. Other elements: Lattice embossing folder (in Big Shot), Bakers twine, square punches.
Colours: Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy and Very Vanilla.

ANNIVERSARY CARD

I loved doing this card last weekend. It is for a very special couple about to celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary.
I have used the DSP from SAB and my birthday gift from SU "Broadsheet Alphabet".
Enjoy!

FEBRUARY   INSPIRATION  2012    EASEL CARD

I received a Stampin' Up! TWEET this week and it was a YouTube Video for an easel card. Very easy instructions! Check it out HERE.
I used Soft Suede, Certainly Celery and Pink Pirohette card stock with Whisper White.
The Stamp Sets were "French Foliage" (p 69 IB&C), "Punch Potpouri" (retired 20110/11) and the words from "Bring on the Cake" -set of Birthday Greetings p38 of the IB&C.
INK colours: Soft Suede, Pink Pirouhette, Certainly Celery.
Embellishments: Crumb Cake Seam binding, Chantilly Crochet Trim, Pearl Jewels.
Other elements: Bird Builder Punch, Decorative Label Punch and Boho Punch (Flower). Dimensionals used to give 3D.
Techniques: Decorative Punch was used for the greeting and then a background punched (in Pink), ends cut off and layered behind the words. The Pearls were used as a bird eye, flower centre and as an added decorative element on the easel "stand".

An EASEL CARD is one that can be layed flat for posting or giving in an envelope, and then it can be displayed propped up as if it was on an easel. The trick is in the scoring and folding! All this is explained on the video by Brian Pilling from Stampin'Up!

Have a go!! Send me your photos! I can place them on this page for others to "feel" the inspiration!

Cheers,
Sharon

January Inspiration #1

This is an everyday," garden gnome", HYDRANGEA flower.
I use the special mixture that you pour onto the soil to make the flowers BLUE! I didn't think I had done it at the right time last year, but surprise surprise and to my delight.......voilah!

We have had so much rain this summer, that the garden is looking just fabulous this year. Everywhere I look there is blooming colour that is fresh and alive. I know the farmers are suffering from all the excess rain.... well, their crops are and they keep getting bogged!!  I hope they all get a summer holiday soon.

I have used these colours and the image to inspire my card creations this week:

Check them out!

  2. Thank You Sue,
I love my garden and I look forward to having more time to indulge my time in the garden.
This morning, I found a green spotted frog on the window sill overlooking the barrel pond where he lives. Cute!
